We are the hosts of the Kup's Purple Heart Cruise, the only cruise created to serve and entertain the courageous men and women who have served our country.
We are very proud to host this unique and worthwhile event and would be unable to do so without your generous support.
The Purple Heart Cruise sailed for the first time in 1945, under the leadership of Chicago Sun-Times columnist Irv Kupcinet. Kup, as he was affectionately known, began the cruise to serve the veterans returning home from WWII with life altering injuries. Kup made sure that a Purple Heart Cruise sailed every year until 1995. In 2007, Kup's grandson, David, re-launched the Purple Heart Cruise to serve a new generation of troops.
Though the Purple Heart Cruise is our most widely recognized event, Kup.s Purple Heart Foundation has many other worthy programs which we are looking forward to launching in the year ahead. From supporting the development of a new and highly effective form of treatment for PTSD, to launching "Operation Genie Lamp," a program designed to serve individual veterans in need, Kup.s Purple Heart Foundation is committed to demonstrating the same steadfast devotion to our troops, that they show to us.
